I was thrilled to attend last night’s Olivier Awards with the Songs for Nobodies team – and also with my old friend Richard Gresham in tow. Richard and I decided to run a competition. Who could get the most selfies with lovely theatre friends – industry professionals of all types including producers, publicists, journalists, marketing bods and even a few performers – at this unrivalled Theatreland event? Safe to say I won!
I must get on with some actual work today – will try to come back later this week to properly caption – but here’s my haul of selfies as well as some shots inside the auditorium at the Royal Albert Hall. Thanks to everybody who struck a pose with me. And apologies to so many other friends I missed!
A wonderful night. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees and also the indefatigable organisers, including Julian Bird, Lee Batty and Emma DeSouza, with their army of 400 people onstage and 1200 backstage. And my biggest personal thanks to Rina Gill, RGM Productions and the beautiful Bernadette Robinson.
Oh, and well done to my fabulous team at StageFaves and MyTheatreMates – Lisa Martland leading Perry O’Bree, Holly Mallett, Marika Visser, Peter Jones and Darren Ross – who covered the event so fabulously across those two sites and social media. Doing the actual hard work on the night. Please be sure to check out that coverage.
